I should mention upfront that these people do not label themselves Jedi, Taoism, the study of the tao and energetic arts like qigong and neigong are the inspiration for the jedi religion and the force in Lucas's books.
I am not here to argue or debate with anyone, so you can consider yourself ignored if try to argue or debate with me over anything in this thread. I am posting it here for those who might find it useful searching for their path.
The Tao, is most often translated as the way.... It is the cosmic cycle of energy rotation and transformation. The flow of all things natural. It is the dynamic that informs the path of least resistance. I have called it the force as much for its appropriateness in a military context as for its popular sense thanks to George Lucas of a natural universal energy with which one seeks alignment. -Sun Tzu's The Art of War (Stefan Rudnicki)
I don't know how many of you know about practices like qigong, neigong, and tummo but masters of these arts can and have awakened powers and have publicly demonstrated them. I am certain they are as real as it gets.

In qigong there are more tai chi like active standing exercises, and a lot of the goal is to extract qi from nature and bring it into the body. Neigong is focused more on meditation and working with qi that is already inside the body.
Qigong and neigong utilize a specific altered state of consciousness a deep trance state where the individual feels disconnected from their body, breathing slows to once a minute or less, almost like a state of suspended animation. In this state they focus their attention to one of three specific areas of the body which are thought to be batteries for lack of a better word for yang chi, they are called dan teins. They focus on merging with the universe, and pulling in yang chi into a dan tein by focusing their attention intently on that spot. There is a dan tein at the third eye, one at the solar plexus, and another slightly below and behind the naval. In schools like Chang's both yin and yang energy are utilized and combined, there are other centers which store yin energy also, such as the soles of the feet and above the anus and in between the genitals also called the perineum.
edit: Also I'd like to add some teachings from master Chunyi Lin of spring forest qigong. The one thing he stresses is most important in his course is to go into the emptiness, to think in your mind that you are one with the universe, that you are in the universe but also the universe is inside your body.
Three Secrets of Practicing Qigong Effectively
1) Go into the emptiness
Countless different Qigong and meditation exercises exist. All teach the basic idea of using consciousness to go into the emptiness where thoughts ultimately cease or greatly diminish and sensory connections to our bodies fade. We and everything in our world are all from the emptiness and will go back to the emptiness. It is a state of pure energy where we are one with the universe.
Our bodies naturally direct us to the emptiness. When we get sick, for example, the first place we go is not to the hospital, but to bed. When we sleep, we feel relaxed and peaceful. We bring our mind and body into the emptiness. Everybody does this automatic meditation without noticing it during sleep and periods of deep relaxation. Most of our daily
energy blockages are opened and resolved in this way The deeper you go into the emptiness, the faster your body will heal. By practicing Qigong we go into the emptiness where we effortlessly balance the Yin and Yang, the female and male energy. As the balance of energy
comes back, the body heals.
2) Keep it simple
My masters told me the most powerful is usually the simplest.
Many Qigong exercises are too complicated and cloaked with mystery. Qigong, in its fundamental form, is very simple. For instance, it is very easy to open energy channels. When you open your fingers, all the energy channels in the hands open. When you move your heels up and down, you open all six energy channels in the feet. It is not necessary to
learn complicated movements to open channels and release blocks.
3) Use your consciousness
When doing Qigong exercise, we use sensation of the body to feel the moving Qi. How we use our mind influences the flow of Qi. Positive thoughts, for example, encourage you to gain back your health and instantaneously direct Qi in optimal ways. Negative thoughts, on
the other hand, discourage you from fulfilling your task, block energy, and create sickness.
