I was born after the Star Wars saga, in 1983. Though I had seen the movie, I actually came to the force in reverse.
As a kind of shy, geeky girl I lacked any confidence in myself. I started taking Tae Kwon Do classes in Middle School. As I watched my own progress, I became enlightened as to how someone can change who they are and even how their own body works. When you do martial marts for a long time, and really immerse yourself in it, you begin to feel an energy. We are told that this energi is ki energy (chi, prana, force, etc.).
This energy, once discovered, never left. Instead it made me more and more discontent with my whole view on life. I began a search for my own spirituality. Now, it was a slow search...not like I woke up one day and declared: "I shall find my bliss today!"
I started in a Methodist church. That didn't last too long. Although the group prayer sessions had a little of the something I was looking for in it, it wasn't enough. It was closer...but not close enough. I went to Wicca next. Wicca was closer, but the religion has become very commercialized. Many books pander to those who want instant gratification. From there I just formulated my own spirituality. Some of my ideas can be seen on my blog, feenixrising.blogspot.com.
The I began reading the Tao, and read books on Buddhism, Hinduism and other Eastern religions. Instead of reading an idea and integrating it, it was weird how I thought an idea, then read that it was thousands of years old!
Jediism is a great hybrid of Eastern religion and Western thinking. Jediism is perfect for me because it does not subscribe to a strict rule of religious dogma neither does it dismiss other ideas, philosophies, religions, etc.
Jediism is a philosophy that must be studied and lived. I found it and see the Force everywhere. It is the euphoria that makes me dance for no reason, makes me sing in the shower, it is the vibration innthe air and the pulse of the rythmn of the Earth itself. Anyone who has felt the "Force" (prana, chi, etc.) knows what I am talking about.
It is so beautiful, and it makes me sad that others cannot or do not realize that their own happiness is not in the THINGS around them, but in the FORCE within them and in everything.
