I am going to do habatat and environment totems next. The reason to add this to the animals is so when you get an animal totem you can take into account the environment it is found in. You would add this information with your animal.
For example: Your animal is a desert animal, a forest animal or a mountian animal. Is your animal in the environment that it is suposed to be in or is it doing extream adaptation in order to survive harsh conditions? Example; you get a water bird totem like stork, ibis, igret heron and so on but you see them scratching in the sand getting food instead of getting it from a shallow stream or pond as would be normal. There has been a drought for a while now so the water birds are doing anything to stay alive. This too is a message. The message here is adaptation in order to survive. If your totem is where it usually is suposed to be, that is another message.
