All the main ancient religions had a central core that re-voled around the modern concept of Jedi, in the sense of creating the Overman, or evolved Persons. All the great centers of Spiritual knowledge in Egypt, Sumeria, the West and East, maybe Atlantis/Lemuria if it existed. Where what one could call today Force academy's. Or Jedi Temples the first being the Temples of the Order of the Serpent which the Elder religion is based on, Hermes the one who we get the term Hermetics from was a teacher and Master in this Order who in reality is the God Thoth. Now understanding this the legacy of Jedism goes back to the beginning of Humanity itself. And is not soley a creation of Sci-fi. But it is also obvious because of the degeneration caused by the Darkage we are now slowly coming out of which is identical to the one the Sith imposed in the movies wiping out all Force users and destroying twisting and hording all Force knowledge and mastery information, and keeping the people ignorant of them, Humanities spiritual and I mean real spiritual not sentiment. Or Force knowledge and ability is so fallen and stagnate, most do not believe in many of the abilities that can be developed and harnessed by study and mastery of the Force. The system of Force science and mastery for along time has been called Hermetics or and the occult, occult in reality meaning hidden knowledge. There is nothing unnatural about developing these abilities as there are all based on natural/Scientific laws most not understood or acknowledged by mainstream science today officially anyway.
The ironic part is the world governments acknowledge them as very real, even having programs like Stargate(not the tv show, but a psychic warfare department.) If a person is to develop this ot a high level of mastery one should be careful how they use it and if they let anyone know about it. As the Sith still rule so to speak.
