From an anthropological viewpoint studying world religions, a couple of well written and researched books on the subject of the Jedi Myth/Religion are: Star Wars; The Magic of Myth by Mary Henderson The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell Myths To Live By by Joseph Campbell
When using the term Myth do not think of the negative conotation implied by many Christians in modern times, for technically ALL religious stories are mythlology. Mythologies tell the stories of: – the origin of the world – origins of humans (or a particular people) – the gods/spirits lives – origins of traditions – nature of .. Everything health, good/evil, behavior After you read the books listed above you will hopefully gain and understanding of the Mythology of Star Wars. the first book is based on an interview between Joseph Campbell and George Lucas, so you should check it out, but make sure to include the other Joseph Campbell works as well.
