The following concept shows my views, and my views only. The "Jedi's Position" is my own, and does not extend to any of you who feel it is not the morally, ethically, or in any way correct position.
Nearly 11 days ago, a new war broke out in the world. This war, between Israel and Hezbollah (I hesitate to say Lebanon) is not a common war. It is not a war of interest (at least not the ones we have been used to in the past century) but a war made up of wounds, hatred and religion.
Every day now in the news, we hear of rockets launched at Tyre, or at Haifa. Every day, we hear of additional wounded, of additional maimed and dead. Every day, we hear of the death of civilization. From every corner of these two countries, people flee, trying to evade the shadow that even now looms in our midst. More importantly, perhaps, to the issue of the war, are the news of two abducted Israeli soldiers, taken prisoners because they represent a threat to Hezbollah, and their interests.
For these two soldiers, Israel launched a massive counter-attack against the armed faction. A counter-attack that has taken many from the ranks of the humans, and one which has not cared, many times, how many it kills. I ask myself, Is it the Correct answer? The answer, unfortunately, will always be no.
Let us be truthful. Hezbollah does not live because Iran gives it weaponry. It does not live because Syria hides it. The reason Hezbollah lives is us. We are the creators, in the end, of Hezbollah. We are all guilty. We are all guilty because humans and their emotions have created the group. A gun does not shoot itself.
Earlier in this piece of writing, I mentioned the fact that this was a new War. Now, I question the fact. Is this a new war? Or is this simply a new sprouting place for one of the most heard phrases: The War Against Terrorism?
For this reason, Israel's answer to Hezbollah's fear-inducing and deadly tactics is not correct. Were it another war, maybe, of those wars that were once with a direct purpose, it might be more correct (not morally, nor ethically, but strategically). However, because this is the famous War Against Terrorism no military answer will be correct in any facet. The only way to fight these men is with love. Yes. Love. For too long, we have underestimated the power of emotions within humans. Against hatred, and against the power of anger, only friendship will be able to set up a defendable barrier.
Now, I know that the way I say it, this sounds useless. However, I, as a Jedi, I cannot see another answer.
In this volatile statement lies the Jedi's Position. Let us pray, hope and wish that no more countries get involved in this war with arms and hymns, for this will be the end of the world as we now it, and not always do the "good guys" win. Furthermore, I ask you to make the finest of distinctions between the words: Muslims, Jews, Arabs and Terrorists. In this war, nobody, not even the Jedi and the Sith are the good guys. And for this reason, we must forgive all who will not kill their brethren for a God, however righteous that God may be.
I do not call the Jedi to arms other than their hearts. I do not call the Jedi to action except to protest agaisnt the taking of innocent life. I do not call the Jedi to do anything, except to prevent this from taking a fateful turn
