The Name people use can tell you alot about them. The name most people use tell you thier family name and that thier proud to bear it. Wiccans who use thier craft names tell you how they think of themselves.
I created this thread out of interest. Why did you choose your name. Does it mean something and if so what?
So I dont sem gready I will tell you my name and its meaning. I chose the the name Belur Мьнп(Μόνο) because it is how I see myself and how I wish to be.
Bel:Signifying "lord" or "master", is a title rather than a genuine name, applied to various gods in Babylonian religion. The feminine form is Belit 'Lady, Mistress'. Bel is represented in Greek and Latin by Belos and Belus respectively. Linguistically Bel is an east Semitic form cognate with northwest Semitic Ba‘al which has the same meaning.
Ur:The reconstructed Proto-Germanic name of the u rune ᚢ is Ыruz "aurochs" or Ыram "water". It is directly derived from Raetic u in both shape and sound value. I use it in the Ыram form seance water is my element.
Мьнп(Μόνο): The greek word for alone

Post by Volund Starfire on Jan 24, 2007 18:55:34 GMT -5
This is an interesting story, and I feel it combines all of what I am.
My name, Volund Starfire. It is two seperate characters of fiction which I enjoy and emulate.
Volund was the name of a Paladin character in a very old Dungeons and Dragons book. The book was written back when Elves were a Character Class and only Thieves had to roll their skills. The set of books he was in portrayed him as the greatest knight I had ever heard of. He was noble, honorable, and the perfect epitome of Knightly Virtue.
Starfire was the name of a Transformer from the old comic series (he never appeared on the TV show). Again, he was a Knight from an Order on Cybertron. Again, he was portrayed as the same type of character. Above that, I really like the way it sounds.
I have been using the name Starfire as a role-playing name when I am in a super-hero game and Volund Starfire as my Paladin when I play Dungeons and Dragons.
It fits my personality and is who I truely am inside.

Ahweh is from Hebrew and means all things and is only part of my spiritual name which came to me in a healing session a number of years ago. The session was for me and was extremely intense. Many things happened during that session which the healer had never seen happen to a person before. I understand that I am a part of all things and have been given an oppertunity to help a lot of people with their awakening processes. I have written a piece of philosophy which speaks volumes of who I am.

Necrom starts with necro meaning death. I personally find all aspects of death interesting. Personally I would love to conquer death because I want to be there through out the future to see all that happens and be able to influence events. Also I associate necro with the body, and almost killing the weaknesses within it to become immune to everything physical (however, thats an almost impossible goal, but I like to aim high).

Alena is Greek meaning "light". It is a reminder to me of the phrase "Konx om pax" or "Khabs am pekht" meaning "Light in Extension." Konx om pax was a phrase uttered at the Eleusinian Mysteries, according to the Golden Dawn. It's also the name of the main character of my SW fanfic. I named myself after her, and it seemed appropriate. ~Alena

Seti I: Named after Seti I. Seti I is considered to be one of the greatest of pharoahs and warriors, and was also the father of another very notable pharoah, Rameses II (or Rameses the Great). Seti ruled in the 19th Dynasty, several generations after Tutankhamen. Surviving accounts of Seti's exploits tell us that he was highly successful at protecting Egypt from such invaders as the marauding armies of neighboring Libya. Seti was also known to have extended his powers beyond the boundaries of Egypt as far east as modern-day Syria.
Shadim: The word is Hebrew. It has been translated as demon and/or shade. (In the Greek sense of a shade.) However, the more accurate translation describes the shadim as "intelligent forces of impurity." Shadim are related to both Lilith and the Qlippoth (astral shells) of the Tree of Life.

Hello my name is Darth Venku. I chose my name because I believe in the true way of the Sith. I chose the title Darth because it means to me leader or master because I have broken the chains of servitude and equality time and time again. I'll post what I know we Sith should follow later on. Venku or Venk is Mandalorian for future. I believe that I will serve the dark side well with my teachings in the future and pass all that I know onto someone else worthy of my teachings.

I will be waiting to observe and comment on your insight then Lord Venku. BTW, very interesting way to come up with a name, I like how it shows that you are well acquainted with the fictional stories Sith Realism was spawned from.

My name is Reignus. It's very simple when broken down, it demotes leadership. Simply put it is Reign Us, or rule over us. It is the voice of others to me, their demanding that I use my power to unite them. It is a name that shows an intrinsic trust and faith. I chose it because I am trustworthy and I'm a true friend. If I am to lead anyone it is because that is their choice not mine. I chose to lead and if anyone chooses to follow me that is ultimately their decision.

My name is Raigus. I chose this name because it "felt" right. I searched myself for the name that defined me in essence. It also comes from Rage which I put as "raig" and added "us". This is because I draw my power form my anger and rage. I have not yet taken the "darth" title because I dont feel that I have reached that level of mastery. As with the great Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Bane I will take the title of Dark Lord when I am strong enough and then dawn the burden of the "darth" title. I have a plan similar to that of Lords Caedus, Sidious, Revan, and Bane. I have taken the strongest parts of their plans and incorproated them into mine.

If you as well versed with Sith Lore(fiction) as you appear to be, then you should know that you must gain power from the inside out. All that should matter for your training at this point is you, I'm of the opinion that the self is the core of all Sith teachings. I can elaborate a bit if you'd like...

To say it in a nutshell, Mrs. Darth Vader shows where my loves and loyalty lies. I also use Loretta Anakin Skywalker to show my love and loyalties. In short I start with Anakin and go with him to the Dark side and become Mrs. Darth Vader when he becomes Darth Vader. I also like all the abilities embodied in Darth Vader.
Valund Starfire, hello long time no see. I am glad to hear from you. Is your Paladin charector like the Paladin charector portrayed by Samual Jackson in "Jumper"?

Welcome Chaos This is your historical time!!! Our economy is collapsing so chaos is soon to fallow. I suppose you are most adapted to this time. Have you ever considered studying Quantum Mechanics? I ask because that is where the chaos is on the sub-atomic level.

jeregretriens was picked because it matches my wife's screenname, and it's misspelled because it is the spelling my mother suggested to me. It carries my family with me.
Katie is the name of a fiction character from a story I was writing long ago and abandoned. When it was time to kill off who I was, there was a vacuum for a name, so I took hers. Loosely picked because of the story of St Catherine di Siena, the important part of which in a nutshell is....she and her family had a very very VERY long-running disagreement.

Ye'shua from the Hebrew "Yeshua", which is the Hebrew form of Joshua (my real name). the hebrew Yeshua is also the Hebrew form for Jesus as in Jesus of Nazareth. Now I am not Christian by any stretch of the imagination, but we share the same name, so i identify with the guy on one level or another.
