Just what is the Force?
What I mean is the "is" in a more literal sense as opposed to a philosophic or religious approach. Before there were humans pondering the rightness or the wrongness of things, there was just a universe. The Force was around long before people or even biological life for that matter. So, what did it do with itself. For one thing, it made a universe. One can safely say this because there was energy before there was matter.
In the past, I delved into all the mystic writings of various religions both eastern and western. Comparisons were interesting. But I felt I went as far as I could go with that. I wanted a more nuts and bolts approach. Perhaps this is a typical Sith attitude. Never mind the poetry, show me how to wield it.
I turned to science. I had to pack up the gods and put them on the shelf for awhile and start a new journey. I figured if the Force is a real thing, the scientists know about it, or at least a certain aspect of it. So I have wandered all over the place: relativity, quantum mechanics, string theory, electro-magnetism, etc. etc.
I have more wandering, but I know this much already. I could spend weeks at a time forgetting about good vs. evil. What does this mean? Do we Force followers over obsess about it? There are people who use aspects of the Force everyday without giving it a second thought. They just focus on what they want. It is merely energy to be used for whatever purpose.

Empress Palpatine said it so well, I will just add that I have been on the same long journey as her. Like Darth Bane searching the old Sith scrolls in that library in the cellar and Darth Bane search of the Darth Revan Holocron my path lead to the study of physics. The study of physics is about how the universe ticks and how the underpinnings work. If there is any power to be descovered it will be found in the laws of physics. Life is unyeilding and tough and no God or Force will help you out of a jam. In short nothing fails like prayer. Scientists have already proven by useing one law of physics you can over come another law of physics so the answer lies in physics. This path is not for the faint of heart and is Sithy because your faverate beliefs are challanged all the time and you have to flow with the hard facts even if unpleasent. It is the road of Carl Sagan.

This path is not for the faint of heart and is Sithy because your faverate beliefs are challanged all the time and you have to flow with the hard facts even if unpleasent. It is the road of Carl Sagan. Physics isnt just for the Sith, the Jedi are crazy into knowledge - It's in the code. The Force can be found every where, not just in physics but even in zoology or water. To wield it, means that the books and keyboards have to be put down during the journey and focus must be re-targeted to ourselves and there is where the real answers will be found. It's lessons are in Yoga, Tai Chi, Aikido, Horse back riding, dancing, a masterful diet, chi gong. It makes us move, our blood heat up, our brain free, our hearts pump and life awakening with in. Here is a link to an article that touches on the Force but I think its pretty good. Still, it won't answer all of your questions. www.jedisanctuary.org/articles/index.php?page=the-force

delfuego I have done simular things to what you named. for example instead of Ti-Chi I did Kung-Fu. I have done danceing. These are fun activities and do add to health. But they did not answer for me the 60 dollar question which was why does God egnor your prayers when you need him most? Where was God when six million jews were being killed? Why there is miricles only in the past like Parting The Red Sea? I started searching as a Baptist. I was Born catholic but I do not count that since birth placed me there. Baptist I joined of free will. I was Baptist for a long time. I noticed that only the popular people got their prayers answered. The reason was church members would help those people but the unpopular soon noticed that God only works if people cover up for his abscence. I then tried the new age and esoteric studies. This path included meditations, spell casting and other forms of practical magic. Still nothing really happened that an atheist could not easily explain in something known as the plasable effect. I could not change my lot or much of anything. These practices were only feel goodisms. I wanted more than an opiet. I wanted a real God I could talk, help me and give guidance not the excuse department of why God wants me to suffer, kneal on rice and learn to enjoy suffering like some cocain addict who can not stop embibeing. I wanted more than what the esoteric studies brought which was at best the plasable effect. I wanted a Force that could be wielded like in Star Wars. It did not happen. So I then desided to look to physics. In physics you do read. The reading is very important to understand the concepts. One does not master physics without first reading about what it is all about. Once the concepts are mastered then you begin the long trek up the physics mountian by learning the math. This takes years and I could be easily dead long before I finish this trek since I am starting at middle age. In physics circles I am called a September scholor. At least that is what someone called me on physorg. Yes a Jedi can go into physics as much as a Sith. Just it is usually a Sith minded person who will walk away from riligion to physics saying it does not work so I try here to see if this works. Sith tend to "push all the buttons" until they find something that actually works.

My opinion on physics versus religion is not a case of walking away from one to the other, but that if I can show that it works in physics, then I can use whatever religion I like to get it to work. But ifI can't show it in physics...it's probably not -going- to work, whatever religion I try.
