I waited as long as possible for as many people to reply to the poll as possible, but I guess people either couldn't decide or didn't care. Either way, as of next Monday we'll start a discussion on the Art of War. ~Alena

I think it is a matter of enough people gathering to make it worthwhile.

If there's two people bouncing ideas off one another in regards to a book...isn't that enough? The fact that it's started may get more interest than an idea that might happen in the future. I've read the Art of War before...how about you and I discuss it and see if that makes people notice?

By the by, that wasn't meant to sound cheeky. Curse the internets and lack of tone-of-voice to soften things. I'm just genuinely interested in talking to people, and think that's a good way to start. You being...y'know, admin and all, feel free to tell me to stick a sock in it.

I have read the Art of War as well. It was an interesting read. A lot of the book is deadicated to getting around armed conflict. It focuses on fighting without fighting. If you must use troops you are to asses the situation very thoroughly before mounting your assault. In short count your costs before starting out.

Ah Clausewitz On War. This is an interesting topic because of technique. War understood as a continuation of politics by other means and higher intensity. In today's society, the traditional values of this text are diminished by micro-politics. Groups of individuals (extremist Shiites, Brazilian druglords, and so on) have the means to aquire information, money, weaponry and manpower as it was never seen before in the earlier contexts of war. As technology advances in an out of control rate, the tribal nations begin to develop a system that would at very least guerillize the larger nations and at worst begin a transgression of the human race back towards isolated nation states

I have read the art of war many times it is a book for those who are weak but wish to become strong. In my opinion all earth sith must read it and understand its teachings as well as the book of the five rings by miyomoto musashi

if you are weak then pretend to be strong and it will guide you to strength if you are strong then pretend to be weak so that your enemies underestimate you then you attack when least expected the art of war is the art of deception.

A sith must love strength in others and especially ones self. and hate weakness in others and especially ones self.

However if a young padawan comes to you the sith asking for knowledge of strength and the dark side your hate must be for the weakness and not your new apprentice. You as a sith must have the passion to teach and to eradicate the weakness of your apprentice for the ultimate goal of the sith is to nurture strength and it is the quest for power that creates growth. The sith must first think of the benefit of the order then the benefit of the individual for united we shal have victory and divided is only failure.

This will be interesting. Since I'm new I have some questions regarding my over-developed abilities. I want to slow it down so I can learn how I'm doing it, or should I speed up in my understanding? A lot of bodies may pile up if I don't learn how I'm doing this.
