I was reading some post of this forum, and I was wondering why someone would want to be a force-user?
Let's say you wake up in the morning and you realize that you possese powers, such as Telekinesis, future prediction, fast reflexes, etc...
What would be your next move?
What would you do with them?
How would this would(or not) change your life?

Two things basically: One would be that ultra feeling of enlightenment and the other would be the power to get more out of this life or world.
I am a Sith so I can be more blunt than the Jedi. Yes, I would use powers of this sort to get richer so that I could do more of the things I'd like to do and not have financial limitation. I may also use them to get people to do what I want them to do.
It goes back to the dreams of the alchemists.

I'll reply as a Jedi: I would agree with enlightenment. Powers are a result of a life time of meditation and a full devotion to unconditional love. With those two things, human beings are the most powerful beings in the Universe.

Well....as a Jedi, this answer might come as sort of sith-like: I could TOTALLY take out the enemy in Iraq! I'm not kidding. If I could use "the Force" in this manner, I would use it on deployment to deter the enemy from killing anyone in my convoy. I mean seriously, would YOU want to mess around with the possibility of getting taken out by someone who has a stronger advantage? With the enemies current tactics, we are evenly matched. Factor in someone who could read thoughts, move objects, see into the future and move faster than your eye could follow. I wouldn't want to mess around with that. I don't think ANYONE would. I want the war to be over with, setting the enemy in line so that they are afraid of my convoy and don't want to risk my being in the convoy would curve the chaos down so much, I would hope the president (whoever it would be) would think it safe to pull out. Yeah, right, wishful thinking >.>. But seriously, I WOULD use it on a deployment to ensure the safety of innocents and my team.

I'd like to say as a sith that power and money are first objectives, but in truth I just like feeling the power itself. It's almost like an addiction to touching the force, or a fascination like with some newfound object. In all senses of the word I consider my self a scholar who believes that knowledge is free so I don't mind sharing the things I've learned or am learning etc... It angers me that people will go to such great lengths to sell "secret powers" and make a profit out of it and then I am left to wonder why people believe that all powers are fake. In truth it is because whenever you hear of such things it is usually either people trying to sell some book or e-book or video that will "explain it all" and or religious zealotry where someone will say that you can only manifest such powers if you worship or believe fully in their god or idol. I got this message when after inquiring into a video of people preforming seemingly miraculous feets I realized that they were charging money to see videos they made of these powers and politely stated that I probably would not continue because they were charging money for it: "SIR YOU MUST KNOW THAT YOU PAY FOR THINGS ALL THE TIME THAT DON'T BENEFIT YOU SPIRITUALLY (THINK ABOUT IT!). WE RUN A FULL FACILITY AND HOUSE STUDENTS/HOMELESS PEOPLE THAT WE EMPLOY TO WORK AND EARN MONEY FROM SELLING LIFE AND NOT DEATH. THIS INFORMATIONAL POWER PROBALY ISN'T FOR YOU SO DON'T BOTHER REPLYING AND CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE LIFELESS INDUSTRIES THAT KILL MILLIONS OF AMERICANS. WE HAVE BEEN AND WILL CONTINUE TO PROSPER FROM LOVE!!!" I forgot somehow that love in our society means the same thing as supposedly infromative videos. I understand that they are seeking to make a profit, but to insinuate that having such a buisiness is the equivalent to prospering from love shows me that such people meerly prey on the arrogance of the hopeful and the feeble regardless of whether they actually know anything. Now that I've ventured off of the topic I think it best to simply say that power and wealth are too trivial pursuits when you take into account that they may only be enjoyed briefly before you expire, so as a response to this I would much rather realize what the true potential of that energy is and pass grains of that to others who may continue and perhaps even think of things that I have over looked, but that's just my own unique way of looking at things I suppose.

Typical scam artists! No wonder why skeptics abound. Next time you meet them tell them that there is a million dollar offer from the Skeptics for anyone that can prove these powers under neutral scientific observation. People with real powers don't need to sell videos. They can grab millions all at once. Amazing also how scammers love to use that word "love."
Back to topic: I suppose the size of my dreams and ambitions would be in proportion to what powers I had. Perhaps money would seem trivial if I could hop dimensions and universes at will.

Hahahaha, thank goodness for those who do use their abilities under scientific observation, I can't wait for the day when science can really figure out how to measure whatever it is that makes up "the force". It has really always made me wonder why throughout human history, all reports and accounts of the same power that we call the force seem fantastic and all together unreal: buddha flew through the air, jesus made fish multiply, and even isis could make snakes (a power that seems a rather common theme). Today we know of none who can make such audacious claims, and if there were to be a person who could do such things, it is sad that such a person would fall so easily into the back drop of the media and not more widely known. The most fantastic scientifically observed abilities are probably telekinesis, tummo (heating up the body on command), and to a lesser extent I suppose what you could call electrokinesis. Having nothing but those I suppose there really wouldn't be much you could get away with unless you find away to get money by being really warm, shocking people, and moving small pencils. I think perhaps the most fascinating subject for me is the study done by observing the dominant brainwaves of tibetan monks in meditation versus students from the college who did the study which showed that the monks had significantly higher levels of gamma brainwaves (a lack of which seems to corrolate to schizophrenia). Therefore going along with simply the things that science can observe and measure, I would have to say that having higher level thinking patterns would be of most use, though for what is a question best left up to your own imaginations.
