A good portion of the time that I attempt to read some fascinating article about manifestation or the law of attraction, the article writer includes that constantly quoted report on athletes and their mental training. It's very likely that most or all of us have heard this, that athletes who visualize themselves running will have muscle twitches in those areas that are used in the exercise they are perfroming mentally. Those routines also get programmed into their muscle memory. Off and on people will get stuck, wondering why they aren't manifesting something they want, and when that happens to me, I like to go back to what I know. What are athletes doing that I'm not at that point? Here's the disconnect I think: They say that the mind cannot tell when something is simply being visualized and when it is actually being seen. Of course, what we wish to happen doesn't always occur, but I believe this is because our mental image isn't something our mind can understand. Think of a code, your calculator can't play the latest action movies that you've downloaded from your computer because it doesn't have what's required. Now the brain is a complex organ, but you shouldn't expect that visualizing an electric ball will let your mind know to discharge electricity, and in that same respect, visualizing someone laughing doesn't let your brain know that you want to be more social. Understanding the language of the mind is easy, it speaks four basic languages that we can relate to, and one that's the equivalent to 1s and 0s. The four we can understand are VISUAL, AUDIBLE, SENTIENT, and EMOTIONAL. You visualize something, it acts as programming code, translating english which you speak into synapse fire, when you visualize something like you would actually see it, your brain can confuse it for something that's actually there, and through biofeedback, your brain can even cause you to feel it. You can also with some training directly go for feeling, the sentient ego to mind language. It feels like energy, and perhaps it is, but regaurdless, it is easy to command your mind to simply allow you to physically feel warmth, or cold, or electric feelings, even if they may not register as existing, and if you hold on to it for a long while, you may find that your body will eventually follow suit. Audible follows closely with the idea of hypnosis, telling your mind to think something or do something and it responds. Finally emotions which sometimes feel uncontrollable are completely yours to control, and with that comes a language all its own, one that acts as a driving force, the fuel to the car so to speak, and you can enact positive reinforcement. Now, to apply these concepts, we must first go back to the athlete wishing to get in some mental practice, visualizing themselves running or swimming. First of all, they see it, that's a given. They see every detail infact, the field, the sweat, the whole shaband as it were. As a result of putting in so much detail, they can also begin to feel it, this again, goes towards fooling the mind, it believes now that they are actually running. They may or may not have cheering crowds, but this is not always neccessary. Here I think is another important part of the process, once they reach that finish line, they feel good about themselves. Now we can talk about applying this to your life, say you want more money. Is that something you can feel, well not always, but we want to trick the mind here, so let's go with what you can feel. Visualize yourself with a 100 dollar bill in your hands, get the feel of it. If your visualization is unclear, foggy, or shakey and you're having trouble getting into it as a result, it may help to take the time to be aware of your mental body. Not the one physically sitting in the chair but the one standing in the armani suit or thousand dollar clothing holding the money. That body presumably has legs, arms, a world around it, figure out what the mental body is like. Your fingers especially, they're holding onto the money after all. Then really get to looking at the money, observing it, getting to know it inside and out. Then the most important part, Feel good about wearing the suit, feel good about holding the money, feel free with your sports car outside, and this feeling good will drive the whole experience, even if your mind doesn't believe that this is real, it will want it. Now, don't actually bother wanting it, we've known for centuries that desire alone brings nothing, or worse, takes away from what we already have. Instead, just feel good about it, in fact don't do anything else but holding onto the image and the feeling. Open your eyes, look at your hand as if you were still holding that money in it. Continue to feel good, if you start wanting to do different things that you think will help you earn money, stop yourself, not continuously, but hold on to the image until your body is begging to do something to get you that 100 dollar bill. This is attraction, you are sending out signals that you have money and it feels good. That's what your brain things, you're hacking the universe, there is a sort of file, imprint of data, that says you aren't rich, and you are rewriting that like a hacker and saying "oh yes I am, and it feels good" and that's that. Now of course if you were to just float back down to reality it'd be a pain and you're waiting there expectantly for your 100 dollar bill that's not coming, the sign that you did this right is that you want to do something right now, you don't just want 100 dollars, you want it now, and you're gonna treck through hell and high water to get it because it feels good. When you're not even thinking about it later, you might have random events happen to you, things that can make you more money, chances to save what you already have, and if you're still on your visual high, you will be inclined to do these things, and most likely succede at them. As you follow this process more regularly, you may start to fall under the impression that you are doing this to get what you want, that's not the case, you are thinking about what makes you feel good and thinking about it and thinking about it. It's like a game, the more fun you have, the more of a winner you are, as long as your having fun playing.
