You know, usually people represent Siths as greedy, power hungry maniacs. However, I would like to contrast that with my approach I call Viridisia Sithism.
If you remember, Jacen before he became a Sith was taught by an alien named Vergerge, who instructed Jecen when he was in the hands of the Yazahn Vong. What did she teach? Well Jacen, in "Betrayal", summarized it as "survival".
There is no point in conquering a world or rienging supreme, if the world is dead and unable to sustain life. There is no point in ruling over atomic glass or nuclear wastelands. Any philosophy that does not deal with "nuts and bolts" aspects of life, to my mind, is short sighted.
Viridisian Sithism does: It works on a "pyramid" idea, refusing to deal with deeper spiritual issues UNTIL others are mastered.
The first level is PHYSICAL SURVIVAL. This deals with all knowledge and practices designed to make the physical survival of a person continue, irregardless of the circumstances. Wether it is day to day survival, emergencies or even post-apocalyptic situations, this level is designed to train and educate a person to be proficient and knowledgable irregardless of the state of society or their situation.
The second level is MENTAL SURVIVAL. The point of this is so one can become Masterful at controlling their moods, their actions and themselves. The focus is both on psychology , therapuetic/mind healing techniques and building attitudes, mind sets that lead to personal success, as defined by the student.
The third level is SPIRITUAL SURVIVAL. This is the highest point, where the Apprentice in lleaugue with a Master studies different Force techniques that have an excellent effort of aiding the Apprentice in transitioning from physical existence to an existence in The Force after death as a sentient, counscious being. Unlike other philosophies, we do NOT GUARANTEE THIS! Even the Emperor, in his wisdom, could not guarantee his own survival after death!
Each step is done step-by-step. An Apprentice can not pass from one level to another in training until they have demonstrated to the Council of Masters their ability to do so. If the Masters are satisfied, they will be passed on that level to begin their new phase of training.
It is not necessary to have a personal Master until the third stage is reached. At the Third Stage of Spiritual Survival, the Apprentice must be chosen by a Master to serve as his or her personal Apprentice. This is an intimate level; the Apprentice acts as student and disciple of their Master, and the Master acts as both spiritual director and Teacher to their Apprentice.
If the Master is a good teacher, and he or she feels thay have been able to master this level, the Apprentice must come before the Council of Masters and formally request to be included as a Fellow on the Council. The would-be-Master will be questioned and tested by the Council to see if he or she is worthy to sit on the Council and assume the mantle of a Master.
Viridisian Sithism combines the Rule of One with the Rule of Two.
All children and those early in their Apprenticeship are taught, collectively, by the Masters of the Council. However, once a person has reached the age of maturity and gone through the Rites of Passage, from a child to a Warrior of the Temple, they *may* choose a Master, if the Master will have them. If they are unable to because there are two few Masters for a one on one relationship or they are not ready for that type of relationship, the Council of Masters may agree to collectively instruct the Warrior as their Apprentice.
However, the rule for Masters is this: One Master, One Apprentice. A Master may not have more then one Apprentice at any given time. This remains the situation until the Apprentice is accepted by the Council as a Master and Peer, or the Apprentice discontinues his or her training.
Viridisian Sithism is a form of "Green" Sithism since it emphasizes that the basic law of all creatures is this: Survive. The duty of The Temple is to instruct, part by part, untill the physical, mental and spiritual survival of the student is assured.
We revere all life, and see the Force as One. The Dark Side and Light Side are terms humans use; The Force makes no distinction between these crude, and arbitrary divisions.
We believe the Earth MUST survive, and those who would destroy it are enemies of all life on this planet. We believe no one has the right to commit genocide or contribute to it. We believe it is not wrong to defend yourself against those whom would poison the water, the ground and the air for their own greed and power.
We believe, lastly, human beings are animals, much like any other animal. We are more intelligent and able to have abstract thoughts, but we are not superior to them. Indeed, they can be our teachers
We seek no harm, but if harm is done, we will obey the prime directive of ALL LIFE: SURVIVE!
