Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
My teachings shall free me.
The Sith code. I shall dissect it line by line. Many have explained this over the course of time (time being a few years) and this is my personal interpretation.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion
Peace is but a manipulation of events to make an illusion of a calm state of being or existence. What was the longest amount of time that war did not touch Earth? I can think no more than a hundred years or so. Maybe less than that. Therefore if peace is non-existent than how do we find the place where we are calm? The answer is passion. Passion, in the dictionary is defined a couple of ways: 1. Ardent Love 2.Lust 3.Boundless Enthusiasm 4. An object of enthusiasm and 5. An abandoned state of emotion. The first is a good definition. A large amount of what a Sith does stems from love. However most never see that in the Sith. Lust is the least helpful of these definitions. Lust is a weak emotion that pulls the one under its effect into a disillusioned state of being. However like greed, lust can take one far when it comes to accomplishments, but be weary of the side effects. The object of
enthusiasm comes in front of boundless enthusiasm. In Greek mythology Helen of Troy was the most beautiful woman ever to live. Men would kill in her name. She created so much enthusiasm through lust that she controlled armies. She was an object of enthusiasm. Boundless enthusiasm stems from the object of enthusiasm. It can come from anything from fighting, power, and/or money. A Sith derives his power from what or who he loves. An abandoned state of emotion ranks up there with Lust as far as bad definitions go. We as Sith must focus our emotions into a blazing spear under which anything melts away. An abandoned state only weakens you in the fact that you have no focus and if you have no focus you are weak.
Through passion, I gain strength.
As discussed before, a Sith gains power (strength) through his passion. We do this many ways. One through greed, as stated before greed, like lust, can lead you very quickly to the completion of your goals. Another is the quest for knowledge (my personal way). The Sith that use this path have an un-quenchable thirst for knowledge and therefore they build strength by learning. Others like power. They gain strength from increasing there control over other human beings. This path is the base path to any Sith. It is somewhere in all of us.
Through strength, I gain power.
No matter how you gain your strength over time, through this strength, you shall begin to feel the power of having such abilities at your command. Even though you feel this power, you must continue to learn. If your passion is limited then everything else is equally limited.
Through power, I gain victory.
Just like feeling the perks of your new found strength with power you shall also begin to feel the success of victory in the path that you have chosen. But be warned if your power is limited so is your victory. Therefore always better yourself until none stand in your way.
Through victory, my chains are broken
Once all your opposition has been cleared away only then may you begin to rest and may you relish in your glory. You are free. Now you have nothing holding you back. No one can stop you on the path you have chosen. Your will has in essence become law. Even though you have defeated everyone and everything don't stop your quest for knowledge and power. Who knows? Maybe one day there will be one who rivals your power and then how will you defeat them? You can only do that by learning all that there is to learn.
My teachings shall set me free
-Personal adaptation
All that you have learned, all that you have incorporated into your being can only ever free you from the chains of society and your own feelings. Your teachings at times may be false as the teachers are not real teachers, but deceivers. Instead notice how they deceive. Learn their ways and then use them against them. There is always something to learn.
