This is short and sweet.
Carry yourself with honor. Deceive your enemies but be true to your allies.
Manipulation and such to get your will done is pointless; think on it:
Is a Sith so weak that he would have to garner the aide of another through manipulaiton?
Or can a true Sith have accomplish what needs to be done on his own?
Or better yet, Does a true Sith need to influence others?
If you are a Sith, you are a warrior, at least in my eyes. Carry your life with honor and always utilize the truth. The Universe is too plagued with ignorance for us to add to it.
Be true to the Darkness and be true to yourself. and perhaps even more so, be true to your kin.

To go along with what you said Virtu. Manipulation isn't always bad. In the words of Darth Treya:
Manipulation is not necessarily forcing someone to do something against their will, but instead you are showing them through example and if they choose to mirror you then that is there own fault.

I do not believe honor is the way of the Sith, in the words of Darth Revan "Honor is a fool's prize, Glory is of no use to the dead." A Sith should strike swiftly and silently into the world of his enemies pushing aside all that stand in his way! As a Sith I firmly believe that to live with honor is a quick way to go against all that the Order of the Sith Lords stands for. Cunning, treachery, betrayal these are the tools of the dark side not the honorable idealistic way of the fool Jedi! That we hold to secrecy and darkness are why we are stronger than the Jedi!

Id have to agree with Raigus, honor is not the way of a true Sith. The paradox of this becomes apparent though when one honors the teachings of the sith lords before him/her. One must honor the teachings of ones who came before, for they have blazed the path to power. Raigus himself honors Darth Banes teachings, and there is nothing at all wrong with that.

That I do. Darth Bane was the first TRUE Dark Lord of the Sith in my opinion but only because of his Rule of Two. In power he was great also but I think Revan matched him or out stripped him even.

Do you honor the teachings, or do you simply respect and utilize them? But I suppose the answer would depend on your definition of honor.

Ah, and thats the crux isnt it. There is a very fine line between honor and pride and honor and respect. Though the fact that you may respect the teachings enough to follow them and pass them on, you honor them even indirectly. Though I guess just because you honor the teachings doesnt mean you honor the people who taught them so.....ok sith have trust issues...

The dark side is a very confusing entity to study. One must understand themselves first in order to study the dark side.

The dark side is a very confusing entity to study. One must understand themselves first in order to study the dark side. The wisest thing one can say. One academy I was a member of made us take self-knowledge and awareness classes before we were allowed to even take ONE force course; they felt it was THAT important.

Im not entirely sure that its the dark side that is confusing, or just the people using it. Since its self knowledge that is important, that has nothing to do with the dark side in and of itself. I believe the force, light/dark, or whatever path you follow is simple. As a matter of fact nothing could be more simple, it simply is.
Though I do agree that you must know yourself before taking up any path. Though honor, by its definition is something a sith would not adhere to. Honor would imply a degree of trust, and the sith are not known for trust....though they expect it from others...and it might be what type of sith you are.
If you adhere to the path of a warrior, you may have more honor, though if your path is of a manipulator and betrayer,or a another type of sith you may not. And yes a warrior can be a manipulator and vice-versa, but one path will call more strongly to you than another.
Ah.... "Truths" from a certain point of view, you gotta love them.

For me to honor anyone they must be worthy of that honor. I judge a man or woman by their actions.

For me, honor is like gold, it's on this earth so all people are entitled to it, all creatures really, but whenever I get my hands on it, I keep it near and dear, and I only give little pieces away to the people who support me and or show a quality of character that I think is exceedingly above that of the common man.
