Hey it's your old pal, The Dark Lord Of The GITH, & I'm here to discuss the Similarities OF the Goth (sub)culture & the Sith.
As Everyone knows Goths, usually Wear black and enjoy death-metal. Well I'm sure Anikan Would Love It too. The Anikan Vs. Obi-Wan Scene in Ep. 3 Just screams of The Nameless (by Slipknot). Plus It (death-metal) Just pulses with anger. Next thing, Goths Tend to Have an affinity for Darkness...SITH!!! Are Generally Loners/ there is only supposed to be one sith per the rules of the re-founder of the sith. The Public ( usually mis-informed Adults) Hate them. Though, the sith do have it worse... (the one sith thing is only an allusion to the movies, nothing more)

unfortunately you seem to be generallizing two groups that tend to defy generalization. yes goths probably tend towards black for the same reason that the sith do, that is its emotional quality, however, do not make the mistake of thinking that metalheads and emokids are goths, just like you should not confuse the sith with dark jedi. appearances may be deceiving,

Hm... Your Feedback Is Much Apreciated, Though I Would Like To Make 1 Statement, I Was Not Under The Impression That Emos/Metal Heads Were/Are Goths (Or Confused About The Same), I Was Simply Aluding To The Fact That A. Most Goths Tend To Like Slipknot., And B. Slipknot Tends To Pump Emotion Into Their Music, And The Sith's Main Source Of Power Is Passion.

fair enough, though the point that i was making is that most people who are goth do not listen to that type of music, things like voltaire, clan of xymox, and even the cure are more common. (history wise they seem to of branched off of punk, one group going further to the "i hate the world and want to kill everyone" while the goths became more, "the world is a horrible place and that makes me want to cry" two different emotions both useful in their own way though a goth would not make a good sith unless it was darth mopey (okay not seriously)

i dont think that goths think "the world is a horrible place and that makes me want to cry", the goth idealogy is formed in part by recognition and acceptance of life's cold harsh realities that mainstream society chooses to ignore and forget. Whether a goth whould make a good sith can be debated, while both share alot of similar characteristics, there are opposing views and things are done differently (self expression vs secrecy). I dont mean to offend, thats just my opinion

As a lover of Anakin and Darth Vader but not a Goth I think to mix the two is a mistake because I tried on serveral occasions to talk to Goths and ask what they are about to only get vague answers. In short they blew me off because I love Anakin. I was rejected by the Goths so I gather there is NOTHING in common with Anakin and the Goths.
Anakin has more in common with the Viet Nam Vet. I know this because whenand where I grew up I knew many Viet Nam Vets. My dad was Navy which means you meet many solders growing up. I heard of all there nightmeres while growing up. I also remember vividly of many telling how they killed the whole village. The V.C. killed my best friend brutally so they acted like animals so I slaughtered them like animals. I hate them. This should sound familar because it is simular to what Anakin said after he killed all the sand people. I heard Nam Vets say the same thing growing up. I believe the Viet Nam Vet to be a better comparison to Anakin/ Vader than a Goth. I base this on how Anakin was portrayed in the movie plus real life experiance with Viet Nam Vets.

Oh, and Mrs. darth vader, Ibelieve that maybe the reeason they blew you of/rejected you is because alot of goths don't like starwars just as alot of normal people don't like starwars... and how i base my statement is from my personal experience as a Goth. your opinions are much appreciated
