First phases of jedi training
Introduction
A jedi first has to work on their selves before they go venturing to learn about some skills and techniques.
A power without control is destructive or of no use.
First step is to want good for yourself. The society has never taught anyone how to really take care of oneself. Everyone is just busy doing something without wanting to know how it all works within them.
So people who just noticed the outside they try to probe within themselves by toying around with the symptoms they can observe from outside.
Take for example the diet. People have completely forgotten the reason why they need to eat.
Food is only a biological fuel to our biological bodies.
If your body still has this energy supply it does not need any more.
But the diets completely overlook that simple thing.
Everyone just thinks that eating this and that is all good for you as long as you don't get too fat and for some it is about becoming thinner and thinner and thinner.
People completely block themselves from the reality without making any effort to see it and then work hard to get things even between their fantasy and the reality.
So what to do?
The main goal is of course to become a jedi. And a jedi is:
one who brings balance, harmony and peace
serves for the greater good of all
continuously develops ones total self
Learns about and practices with Force use
The first part of the jedi training should contain unlearning of all the old ways. And at the same time strongly aiming at peace and harmony and finding out how to realize these and other jedi concepts.
What I suggest is that we even leave behind the old ways of looking at ourselves and even the learning process.
Only one who is willing to experiment while keeping a strong focus on jedi goals will be able to learn really extraordinary things about ourselves and the Force.
You have to also practice meditation. The best is to do it daily. So take time to learn about meditating and once you have enough info and motivation just practice.
Also try to do something about the views you have about yourself. Like about being happy. Remember happiness comes from inside and if you think about then you really need no reasons for being happy. If you think that no you need this and that to be happy then it means you are manipulated or even controlled by those things. Being a jedi is about learning to control oneself at first. It is a practical ability that will make following jedi ideals possible in a more complicated circumstances. It is not a jedi tenet but a necessity.
But before you can control yourself you have to really meet yourself. Many people live their lives filled with action. The social culture is even portraying that action=life. The thing is that as our taste of life lessens we need spicier and spicier food to feel the taste of it.
So a jedi needs to stop themselves, their world. Meditate, contemplate and seek to look on things from greater perspective. At the same time build ones self-sufficiency, enhance your health, do physical exercises and get back to cultivating the most important -> your mind.
The mind and body are one. And we are whole beings. And to awaken ourselves we need to cultivate every part of us removing the blockages in our mind and energy. Think about it, does some mental issue in your head let you become a fully conscious and self-sufficient person? Will the blocks of energy flow in your body help you at all? Will the physical sluggishness make things any more comfortable for you?
Remember when we were children. What problem there was with cold or exercise? Were we not little heroes in cop and bandit games, building huts, venturing around in nature, or pillow wars LOL. We were freer than now. And though some childish thoughts of us were immature we were able to not worry about the most of what happened and just did everything to have fun.
We should be free in our mind like children yet not without control. But somehow being free seems like easy and being controlled is felt to be hard. The reason is that the society goes from one extreme to other. From max freedom to max control. What we need is to discipline ourselves to be able to decide the right balance of freedom and control.
Discipline is necessary to be free. And as jedi we seek to not be swayed here or there by everything. Jedi has to be able to be silent and in balance within otherwise we will not be able to act out as jedi in more demanding situations.
I am sure that at one point in our journey discipline and the whole jedi way becomes a simple and easy affair yet fully serious.
