"I ask for respect. If not for my religion, then at least for myself. Do not let this site, a place of peace and philosoph, be tarnished with hatred as so many others have become. This is all I ask. This is all I implore." -Volund Starfire
Will everyone just STOP!!!!! Volund is being attacked here for no other reason than liking a book and being Christian. He asked for respect. He is asking for a little common decency. He should not have to ask for common decency & respect.

I thank you Seti. My beliefs have caused strife on other sites. It caused arguments over my qualifications as a Jedi, over my status as a protector, even over my right to live. I do not wish my faith to be attack and result in more bans. There have been too many already.
I have heard all the arguments, have seen all the proof... I understand that the old Church was full of evils. But that was then, this is now. I do not follow the old ways, I follow my interpretation of the Bible, I follow MY way.
I believe that all are worthy of respect, not just those with like beliefs. I believe that all are worthy of aid, not just those who follow a certain path. I believe that all are entitled to live, not just those an archaic church deems right.
Rather than have the ban of another who hates me for the path that I follow weigh on my conscience, I would rather just leave. If my even posting at this site is a cause for contention ,then I would rather just rid the site of myself and let you go on with the peace you once held. I do not wish to do this, as I enjoy the intellectual philosophy discusses here, but if it is the only way to preserve the peace, then it shall be done.

Volund, I admire your dedication to your principles and your self sacrifice. But please, do not refrain from posting and do not leave the site. I enjoy your input and you are a scholar whom I respect. Situations like this arise from time to time, and this can be dealt with fairly, peacefully and equitably. To all, We are all capable of treating others respectfully, even if we completely disagree with their posts and arguments. If people really desperately want to dump on Christianity, there are various Satanic sites I could recommend for your Christian bashing pleasure. lol -Seti

Not that I'm a satanist. But they and the sith share many similarities in their desire for personal gain over all else. Not to mention I share hatred for many things and used to be interested in the occult. Its very interesting stuff and I seek to learn something from it. All paths lead to knowledge, and all knowledge is good for knowledge is pure and can't be tainted.

May I respectfully as that you take this conversation to another thread, or create one for it. This thread is for the discussion of the book Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Masters, not a place for the discussion of sites dedicated to the Satanic Study.
Thank you for your understand and respect.

Thank you for your understand and respect. Agreed. Anyone wanting to discuss Satanism should make a separate thread. Now back to topic, Volund, I'd be curious-how does the book compare to books such as Star Wars and Philosophy? In other words, does it address Christian wisdom more from a Biblical viewpoint or from Christian philosophy? I realize that the Christian philosophers were based in Scriptural teachings, but is this book's emphasis more on one than the other? Or is it much more general? I ask because I'm considering picking the book up and I have a limited book budget for a while. -Seti

However, I can answer a little of your other questions:
The book addresses the wisdom from both a Biblical viewpoint as well as a philosophical view point. Though, from what I read (after mid-terms, I am finding some of the details sketchy in my mind), it addresses it more toward the interpretation of Biblibal writings. I will, however get back to you after I am able to read it again, however I would probably suggest Star Wars and Philosophy first as not only you, but also my University Philosophy Instructor have suggested it.
